Tank Ties, LLC was conceived in late 2017.

After brainstorming many issues that needed a solution the company was formed after identifying a problem encountered when trying to secure propane tanks in personal vehicles to be transported for refill or exchange.  Input from many supported the theory that the various methods of securing the heavy metal tank in the back of pickups, SUVs, etc were inconvenient and even unsafe.  Many of those surveyed used bungee cords but indicated that, in almost every case, the cords grabbed were too short, too long, hard to install or, once installed, did not hold the tank securely or upright during the trip to and from the local retail store.  

With this knowledge, initial sketches were developed to solve the problem. Rather quickly, the design centered on a strap concept.  Over the next two weeks, with a new Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine, 2" nylon strap and various buckles and snap hooks a basic design was developed. After an additional 2 months and numerous iterations a near-final design was defined that not only worked in the back of pickups, but in most vehicles.

Additional industry and market research was conducted; the Tank Ties name and URL secured; patent and trademark application processes initiated; and finally Tank Ties, LLC was formed in Round Rock, TX in early 2018 now located in Liberty Hill, TX.
