Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, to ensure safe use and operation, the strap and hooks should be inspected for damage prior to each instance of transporting your propane tank.

  • The Tank Tie strap was not designed to be used as a “permanent” means of transporting propane tanks. The Tank Tie was designed for personal use when transporting tanks to / from exchange or refill stations and not commercial use cases.

  • For most trucks, the wide gap hook with the short webbing strap should be used to prevent propane tank tipping.

  • The narrow gap hook with the long webbing strap should be used in most cases.

  • In most instances, the Tank Tie strap can be raised or lowered on the surface of the propane tank enabling access to the desired connection point. When raising or lowering, ensure the Tank Tie strap is positioned 1” above / below the curved portion of the propane tank as shown in the installation instruction video.

  • The Tank Tie can be secured in your vehicle’s seat by inserting your vehicle’s shoulder seat belt into the included “SEATBELT STRAP” located between the two snap hooks. Please follow the guidance in our installation instruction video.

  • During the manufacturing process, the “SEATBELT STRAP” is sewn on inside out initially. Before final packaging, either end of the Tank Tie is fed back through the SEATBELT STRAP to ensure proper orientation and operation. If that final step was missed, the label will not be properly visible and usable.

To correct, take either end of the Tank Tie and feed it completely through the inside of the “SEATBELT STRAP”. When complete, the label should now be facing outward when installed on the tank and ready for use.
